Trump supporter changes road sign to ‘Crooked Hillary’

Authorities are investigating after they say someone changed an electronic road sign in Virginia to display disparaging remarks about Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and encourage people to vote for Donald Trump.

Police say the sign, located in Prince William County, flashed three messages Tuesday evening: “CROOKED HILARY” — followed by a profanity and “VOTE TRUMP.”

The sign was initially placed at the Tackett’s Mill commuter lot to encourage people to vote.

The county elections office spokesman Winston Forrest says a box holding a computer on the side of the rented sign appears to have been left unlocked. That seems to be how the message was tampered with.

Officials say locks have been placed on the remaining voting road signs.

The errant message was turned off.
