‘Gravy Train’ restaurant chugging into Toronto

TORONTO – A new restaurant is set to hit the rails in Toronto early next year and it’s bringing the ‘gravy’ with it.

The Gravy Train restaurant, a project being crowd-funded on the popular website Indiegogo, hopes to open in spring of 2013.

“All this ‘gravy talk’ has made Toronto edgy and it’s not because of politics. We’ve all been subconsciously craving gravy,” said James Applegath, co-founder of The Gravy Train project, along with partner Craig Brissenden, in a press release.

According to the project’s Indiegogo page, the restaurant is not a place for political discussion, rather a place to eat.

“Use your mouth to eat and laugh, not to argue! Right, left – it doesn’t matter which hand holds your fork while you’re eating our food.”

The pair have also sent an open invitation to councillors at City Hall.

“We’d love to have Mayor Ford, Adam Vaughan, Gord Perks down for lunch,” said Brissenden.

The Gravy Train partners are hoping to raise $20,000. So far, they have reached $90.
