What’s considered an ‘essential’ service in Manitoba?

WINNIPEG — As University of Manitoba faculty members hit the picket lines for the second day, 29,000 students remain in limbo. Some are calling on such disputes to be settled during the summer months to affect fewer students, while others question why university is not an essential service.

Global News asked Premier Brian Pallister Tuesday whether it was time to add education to the list of essential services like doctors and nurses, but he refused to answer, simply saying he ‘respects the process.’
