Winnipeg Police Service said it sent the hazmat team to investigate a white powder found in a building on the 400 block of Maryland Street.
Officers attended to the scene Saturday as part of an assault investigation and returned Sunday for a follow up, when the powder was discovered.

While the substance is being investigated, Carver said officers won’t know for weeks what it actually is.
