Man injured in pedestrian collision on 8th Street dies in Saskatoon hospital

A 60-year-old man who was injured in a pedestrian collision on Friday in Saskatoon has passed away.

At around 8:45 p.m. CT, a Saskatoon police patrol sergeant came across the crash that involved a car at the intersection of 8th Street East and McCool Avenue.

Calvin Rodney Betker, 60, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police said he later died as a result of those injuries.

Police said they did not believe alcohol or the manner of driving were factors in the crash.

Members of the collision analyst team continue to investigate.
