On Nov. 1, 2016, Jasper Place Fitness and Leisure Centre will close its doors; the fitness centre will be shut down permanently and the pool area will be updated.
The renewal project will see the lobby and front counter service area reconstructed to accommodate people with mobility restrictions. A barrier-free washroom will also be installed.
The fitness centre will be rebuilt into a new “universal aquatic change room that will be available to all genders and families,” the city said in a news release. The change room will also be accessible to patrons with mobility restrictions.
