2 dead in crash between passenger bus, truck on Highway 2 near Colonsay, Sask.

Two men are dead after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 2 near Colonsay, Sask.

The collision occurred Tuesday at around 7:20 a.m. CT near the intersection of highways 2 and 16.

RCMP said a small-sized passenger bus travelling northbound collided with a southbound pickup truck.

The 69-year-old driver of the bus and a a 60-year-old passenger were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel. Their names have not been released at this time.

A third person in the bus, a 74-year-old man, was airlifted to a Saskatoon hospital by STARS.

The driver of the pickup truck suffered what were described as serious injuries. The 30-year-old man was taken by EMS to hospital in Saskatoon.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation.

All traffic restrictions have been lifted.
