Abbotsford police investigating drive-by shooting

Abbotsford police are investigating after a seemingly random drive-by shooting Saturday night.

Shots were reported in the 27600 block of Signal Court at approximately 8 p.m. Upon arrival, police conducted an area search and came across the home in question, which was riddled with bullet holes. A car directly outside the home was also damaged, and the street was littered with shell casings. The two residents of the home were not injured, and are cooperating with police.

The motive for the shooting is unclear, although police don’t have reasons to suspect gang activity at this time. Forensics and video surveillance are still being collected from the scene, and a canvassing of the neighbourhood has been conducted. The Major Crime Unit has taken over the investigation.
