It’s no secret. Following on the heels of a rainy Friday, it is also a rainy Saturday in Montreal, with more wet weather expected Sunday.
There’s so much rain, Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for much of southern Quebec, including Montreal.
Over 50 mm of rain has already fallen over the city since Thursday evening, with another 50mm expected Saturday.
Environment Canada warns the heavy rainfall could lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas and even landslides in high-risk zones, such as steep slopes.
Quebec’s Public Security ministry is said to be monitoring several rivers across the province that have reportedly reached unusually high levels.
Hydro-Météo is reporting that three rivers in the Beauce region have caused minor flooding, with the Acadie River currently under flood watch.
However, no public alerts have been issued at this time.
