Friends and family of Linda Horsfall have organized a search party to locate the missing 51-year-old.

Horsfall has been missing since Oct. 6 and was last seen by friends and her husband at 6 p.m. She was wearing a black camisole.

On Saturday morning, about 50 people gathered at Scotyz bar and grill at Lake Brome to begin searching.

They mapped out the areas of Bromont, Shefford and Foster and were split in groups equipped with posters and a picture of Horsfall.

“They’re scouting the depanneurs, motels, supermarkets… anything that’s open and are asking questions,” Van Koliakos, her brother-in-law, said.

Horsfall is from Longueuil but her family is searching the Eastern Townships as they say her cellphone was last turned off in the area.

“Everybody is trying to piece everything together,” Koliakos said. “It’s not like her to be gone without any communication.”

Horsfall’s cellphone remains off.

Koliakos added nothing prior to her disappearance led them to believe something was wrong.

“Last Sunday, they were apple-picking with the family,” the brother-in-law said.

“She recently had a grandchild, which makes it even more of a mystery because she wouldn’t do that to her grandchild.”

“We’re hoping we can find something today,” Horsfall’s friend Joey Notargiovanni said.

“If not, the search will continue tomorrow at 769 Lakeside Lac Brome, that’s where Linda used to work.”

Meanwhile Longueuil Police said they’ve received several tips and are asking for the public’s help.

They ask to anyone who has seen her car, a black Scion XB, to call 911 immediately.
