A confrontation on a political talk show got a little too heated as two rival politicians in Georgia ended up coming to blows on live TV.

The incident occurred on the Georgian TV network Qvemo Kartli, during a political affairs show.

Polad Khalikov, a parliamentary candidate for Georgia’s Industrial bloc party, was facing off against Vepkhia Gurgenishvili, a member of the Free Democrats Party.

“Why you have invited this scum?” Gurgenishvili said. “I will break glass upon your head now, you schmuck.”

Khalikov responded by hurling his pen at Gurgenishvili, who stormed across the set to confront him. Within moments, the two men were exchanging punches as the show’s staff tried to pull them apart.

“Sorry for this, we are forced to end the program,” the flustered anchor says and the two men are finally separated.

Georgia’s general election is set to happen on Oct. 8. Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili is seeking a second term in office. His main challenger is Irakli Alasania of the Free Democrats.
