There is some closure to the story about a lost love bird in New Brunswick and the possibility of its owner being found in Montreal.
This story began in late August when Suzanne Vincent arrived home to a tiny green and red love bird on her car. She got the bird inside and started trying to track down the owner. Through social media, Vincent and Gabriele Frenette of Montreal met and came to suspect this bird might be her love bird, Olive.

The Frenettes made the several hundred kilometre journey to Quispamsis and see for themselves. Unfortunately it was not to be. The bird didn’t behave as expected, leaving Gabriele to conclude the bird was not her pet.
“When I held her she took a little nip at me,” Frenette said. “She wouldn’t do that. It just didn’t seem like her”.
The bird also holds a special place with Gabriele’s husband, Pierre.
“It was a special gift I gave her for our second anniversary present so it was very special,” Frenette said.
It was a conflicting time for Vincent as well. “A little bit of mixed emotions and either way the bird has a home now and will be well taken care of here,” she said.
The Frenettes don’t believe the trip was wasted.
“If I didn’t come here I would always wonder if it is her so and I wouldn’t forgive myself,” Gabriele said.
The bird will stay with Vincent, and yes, her name will remain Olive.
