Officials in Delta held the first of two forums Wednesday night as they warn the community about the dangers of fentanyl.
More than 200 people came out to South Delta Secondary to see how Delta is dealing with the opioid epidemic as they launch open discussions on how to combat the health crisis.
It was the first of two forums to be held this week, with the second one Thursday night at North Delta Secondary School.

Earlier this month, officers were forced to deal with nine drug overdoses in the span of just 20 minutes.
Delta’s Police Chief says parents need to talk to their kids about drugs.
“They are going to be faced with drugs within their party environment, within their schools, within their work environments and now it’s about how they can make those tough decisions for themselves to be able to stay away from it,” said Chief Neil Dubord.
