Edmonton police looking for driver of truck involved in hit and run

EDMONTON – Edmonton police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man who’s believed to have fled the scene of a crash that sent two people to hospital with serious injuries Wednesday night.

Around 10:30 p.m., police received a call from the occupants of a silver Dodge Neon that was driving in the area of 142 Avenue and 127 Street. A black Dodge Ram truck, driven by a man apparently known to them, was allegedly chasing them. A collision then occurred between the truck and the car, causing the car to lose control, and collide with a light post at 137 Avenue and 119 Street. The truck then allegedly fled the scene.

The 20-year-old male and 17-year-old female occupants of the car were treated and transported to hospital by EMS. The female is listed in stable condition with undetermined injuries, while the male is currently listed in critical but stable condition.

Police continue to investigate the collision and say Cory David Chalmers is wanted in connection with the collision.

The 21 year-old is facing charges of criminal negligence causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, and criminal hit and run – failure to stop.

Chalmers is described as approximately 5’9,” 170 lbs, with brown eyes, and blonde/brown hair. He is believed to be driving a black Dodge Ram truck that may have minimal damage.

Investigators are asking the driver of the truck to come forward to police immediately. Anyone with information about the collision, the truck, or Chalmers’ driver’s whereabouts, is asked to contact police at 780-423-4567.
