New Winnipeg Blue Bombers DB TJ Heath honoured by CFL

WINNIPEG – Recently acquired Winnipeg Blue Bombers defensive back TJ Heath has been named a Shaw CFL Top Performer of the Week following a strong defensive showing in his final game with the Toronto Argonauts.

Heath had two interceptions and seven tackles in the Argonauts’ 33-21 win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday. The 29-year-old rookie was traded to the Bombers after the game in exchange for quarterback Drew Willy. Winnipeg also received two draft picks as part of the deal.

Heath is currently tied for the league lead in interceptions with five in ten games. He also has 37 defensive tackles and three special teams tackles this season.

BC Lions running back Jeremiah Johnson and Calgary Stampeders receiver Davaris Daniels round out the Shaw CFL Top Performers for Week 12.
