Security guards attacked with bear spray at Spruce Meadows

RCMP are looking to the public for help identifying the person responsible for a bear spray attack at Spruce Meadows

Officers were called to the equestrian facility at around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2016.

According to Okotoks RCMP, two security guards were approaching a “suspicious male” when he produced a can of bear spray and deployed it, spraying both guards.

The suspect was able to get away while the guards were incapacitated.

The suspect is described as being in his late 40s or early 50s, 5’11” to 6′ tall and weighing 180 to 200 pounds with a medium build, brown collar-length hair and tanned skin. He was wearing a tan baseball cap with “Windriver” embroidered on it, a blue collared shirt and navy blue jacket, blue jeans and brown leather shoes.

The security guards were treated on scene by EMS.
