Chevy Chase enters rehab for alcohol-related ‘tune-up’

Chevy Chase has returned to rehab to deal with alcohol-related issues.

The famed 72-year-old actor is a patient at the Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center in Minnesota, the same rehab facility that treated Robin Williams in 2014.

Chase’s publicist Heidi Schaeffer said Monday that Chase is at Hazelden Addiction Treatment Centre for what she calls a “tune-up” in his recovery.

The Saturday Night Life alum has had struggles with substances during his career. He checked into the Betty Ford Clinic in the 1980’s for treatment for an addiction to prescription pain killers.

The 72-year-old former star of the Vacation movies was recently a regular on the NBC TV comedy Community from 2009 to 2014. He has a pair of films coming up, The Christmas Apprentice and Dog Years.

Chase’s former Community costar, Joel McHale, is reportedly playing Chase in Netflix’s A Futile and Stupid Gesture, the biopic on National Lampoon co-founder Douglas Kenney.
