Body found at south Edmonton home after house fire

Edmonton police are investigating a suspicious death just off Whyte Avenue.

Fire crews were called to a home on 98 Street and 81 Avenue just before 11 p.m. Thursday.

Police said a man was found dead at the scene. An autopsy confirmed his death was a result of the fire, but police are still investigating to determine if the death is suspicious.

Police believe the house may have been abandoned.
