Six people have been arrested in connection with stolen property, illegal guns and drugs seized from a residence in Sylvan Lake, Alta. last week.
RCMP said two trucks stolen from Lacombe and Westlock were found at a home on Richfield Crescent on Aug. 24. Four people—including the two residents of the home—were arrested at the time.
Police later executed a search warrant and found multiple illegal weapons, including sawed-off shotguns, handguns, an Uzi-style assault rifle, brass knuckles, tomahawks and hatchets.
“All firearms are believed to be stolen and have had serial numbers removed,” police said Monday.
Police also found drugs including morphine, prescription pills, crystal meth and mushrooms.
“Sylvan Lake RCMP then re-attended this same residence less than 24 hours later for a complaint of a male outside with a gun,” police said in a Monday statement, adding the man and a woman were arrested at that time.
Jason Sagal, 41, and Nicole Rae Armstrong, 31 of Sylvan Lake, Jason William Ionson, 35, of Blackfalds, and Samantha Casimer Johnstone, 26, of Red Deer are facing numerous charges related to firearms and drugs in the first incident. Police said further charges are anticipated.
Red Deer residents Jesse Kaelin Strongeagle-Geddes, 21, and Kristie Lynn Stauth, 34, were arrested in the second incident and face various charges related to unauthorized possession of firearms and stolen property.
