Everyone was asked to get out of the water as a search got underway at Birds Hill Provincial Park Wednesday afternoon.

RCMP said they received an initial report of a person floating in the water, appearing to go under the surface, and not come back up.

“We are being extremely cautious at this time and have deployed appropriate resources,” Sgt. Bert Paquet with the RCMP said in an email.

The STARS air ambulance also responded to the scene around 12:30 p.m.

“There is no indication at this time of any unaccounted person and each camp site is being checked to determine if anyone is missing,” Paquet said.
