Flagger killed in Prince George

Police are investigating today after a deadly crash claimed the life of a traffic control person in Prince George.

It happened early Tuesday morning.

Police say the flagger was struck and killed by a CN Rail truck at the intersection of Austin Road and Highway 97.

RCMP and WorkSafeBC are still looking into the cause of the crash.

“We’re looking at all aspects of the collision,” said Sgt. Matt LaBelle with Prince George RCMP Traffic Services. “Weather, road factors, speed, none of which are showing as contributing factors but we’re looking at all of them.”
