At a press conference held Tuesday night, Calgary police said they have a 50-year-old male suspect in custody and offered more details in connection with a double stabbing in Huntington Hills early Monday morning.
Qisong Zhou is facing two charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, one count of attempted murder and one count of assault with a weapon.

Police have maintained all along this attack was targeted and that the victims knew the suspect “very well.”

They confirmed Zhou did live in the home where the man and woman were attacked but said they could not speak to a motive.
TIMELINE OF EVENTS
Monday Aug. 15 7:45 a.m. Police officers are called to a home in the 200 block of Huntcroft Road N.E. Inside, they find a man and woman who had been stabbed and three children who were unharmed in the attack.
Monday Aug. 15 11:30 a.m. Calgary police announce they are looking for a 50-year-old man in connection with the double stabbing. A description of the man is given but his name is not released. Police also say they do not believe the attack was random.
Monday Aug. 15 10:15 p.m. Police announce they are looking for 50-year-old Qisong Zhou in connection with the stabbing earlier that day.
Tuesday Aug. 16 2:20 p.m. Calgary police release CCTV footage from 10 a.m. Tuesday morning that appears to show Zhou at a Royal Bank in Beddington, less than one kilometre from the crime scene.
Tuesday Aug. 16 4:00 p.m. Two eyewitnesses call police to report seeing a man who looks like Zhou walking along northbound Deerfoot Trail near Airport Trail.
Tuesday Aug. 16 4:50 p.m. Calgary police confirm they have Zhou in custody. Zhou is facing a number of charges including attempted murder. His next court appearance has not been determined.
