Temperatures across Metro Vancouver will soar this week as a long stretch of nice weather continues into the weekend.
After a moderately cool summer so far, a minor heat wave will blanket much of British Columbia in hot and sunny weather this week, reaching peak temperatures on Thursday and Friday.
The mercury is expected to hit 29 C on both days at Vancouver International Airport and will reach up to 35 C in Abbotsford.

If the forecast delivers, this will be the warmest recorded temperature at the airport so far this summer. According to Environment Canada, Vancouver temperatures haven’t hit higher than 28 C since June 29, 2015.
Other inland regions will see temperatures this week above 30 C as well.

Monday will see a high of 25 C in Vancouver and temperatures will steadily climb all week and remain warm throughout the weekend. Saturday is expected to hit 28 C with a low of 17 C.
Interior regions will be hot as well, but on par with typical summer conditions.
Kelowna starts the week off at 33 C for Monday and Tuesday and cools slightly to 29 C by Thursday, heating up again to 32 C for the weekend.
Prince George will be warm, but not too hot, this week as well. They will hit a high of 27 C on Monday and stay moderate throughout the week.
