Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is now a shoe designer

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has declared “it’s a good day in footwear” after revealing he’s not just an actor and wrestler – he’s also a shoe designer.

The 44-year-old posted a video on his Instagram page that offered a sneak peek of the soles (the design is a take on Under Armour’s Delta Highlight).

According to the short, he’s been testing and improving on the design for the past year.

The shoes come in a black colour with bright yellow accents, and have motivational quotes on them such as “Earn It” and “Blood, Sweet & Respect.”

“Just know that I put in a year of sweat equity,” he explained in the video, while presenting the new kicks.

Johnson also said he came up with an early name for the shoe which is “Rocks FIYA.”

“Cause you’ll chase your greatness in them by the only way we know how.. EARNING IT.”

In February, the Ballers star and Under Armour announced a long-term partnership called “Project Rock” that will include lifestyle and footwear products in the collection.

One month later, the collaborators unveiled a line of gym bags and later released “The Rock Clock,” which is an app where users can rise to a new message from the actor on a daily basis by setting the motivational alarm.

Johnson anticipates the release of the shoe in early 2017.
