A 22-year-old man is recovering in hospital after he was stabbed in the upper body Friday evening.
Police were called to the scene on 8th Avenue and Notre-Dame Street in Pointe-aux-Trembles at 10:30 p.m.
According to witnesses interviewed by police, a conflict between the victim and another man broke out inside a private party hall.
Police said the pair took their argument outside and then the conflict escalated.
The victim was stabbed in the upper body and when police arrived, he was unconscious.
He was rushed to hospital in critical condition, where he underwent surgery.
At 1:30 a.m. police received confirmation that the victim’s life was no longer in danger.
A perimeter was established around the crime scene.
Police are still searching for the suspect, who fled the scene in a car.
In June, a man was shot to death while sitting behind the wheel of his car at the same intersection.
