MONTREAL – The arson squad is investigating after a car was torched in Pointe-aux-Trembles early Saturday morning.
Montreal police (SPVM) recieved a 911 call at 12:50 a.m. about a car on fire on Notre-Dame Street between 19th Avenue and Tricentenaire Boulevard.
Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and set up a perimeter to protect the crime scene.
The burnt vehicle was towed to the SPVM’s expertise lab to be examined.
According to witnesses, a person wearing dark clothing was seen fleeing the scene shortly after the car burst into flames.
A vehicle parked nearby was also damaged by the fire.
