The Okanagan Film Commission (OFC) is optimistic the local film industry will strengthen, after a Regina-based production company announced its move to the valley.
Minds Eye Entertainment has created more than 50 film and television projects since 1986. It has just opened an office based in the Okanagan.
“This is a huge deal for the Okanagan. It means that we are producing films and TV domestically from within the Okanagan instead of always searching for productions and providing service work for them,” said Jon Summerland with the OFC.
Summerland believes Minds Eye will help strength the local film crew and grow production infrastructure.
The production company will be filming six projects this year, including The Recall, a science fiction film starring Wesley Snipes.
Minds Eye has already begun shooting The Recall in Vernon.
