A man wanted for allegedly attacking his ex-girlfriend was arrested Monday night.
Last week, Beaumont RCMP issued an arrest warrant in relation to the “violent domestic assault” of a 31-year-old woman.
Mounties said the assault happened on the evening of Saturday, July 30. The woman was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
An arrest warrant was issued for Cory Robert Wiltzen, 38. Police thought he was in the Edmonton area, and said he was believed to be armed and should not be approached.
Beaumont RCMP said he was safely arrested on Monday.
Wiltzen was charged with break and enter to a residence, assault causing bodily harm, uttering death threats, overcoming resistance to the commission of an offence, five counts of failing to comply with recognizance and seven counts of failing to comply with probation order.
Wiltzen was also charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking drugs after evidence was found during his arrest, police said.
