MONTREAL – Provincial police are investigating after the body of a woman was discovered in a wooded area in Grenville-sur-Rouge in the Laurentian Mounatains, Friday evening.
According to police, a local resident made the discovery at 7 p.m. on Chemin Scotch near Cook Lake.
While very little is known about the circumstances leading to the woman’s death, police are treating it as suspicious.
Anne Mathieu with the Sûreté du Québec confirmed that the woman’s death happened recently.
An autopsy will be performed in the hopes of identifying the victim and learning more about the events leading to her demise.
Provincial police are asking anyone with information regarding a possible missing woman, be it a a loved one, a coworker or even an acquaintance, to contact police at 1-800-659-4264.
