Paul Simon took the Democratic National Convention stage on Monday night and showed his support for the party by singing Bridge Over Troubled Water, one of Simon & Garfunkel’s well-known songs.
The performance occurred after comedians Al Franken and Sarah Silverman took the stage together at the DNC to call for party unity and support for Hillary Clinton.
Unfortunately, the moment was disrupted by chants for Bernie Sanders with the crowd screaming “Bernie!”
“Can I just say…” Silverman said. “…to the ‘Bernie or Bust’ people, you’re being ridiculous.”

As the theme for the night was “United Together,” the mood changed quickly once Simon took the stage, and the attendees were able to unite over the folk singer and his performance.
Simon had some amazing company at the DNC with many incredible speakers for the night, which included New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders and Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren.
Paul Simon recently finished his tour for his latest album, Stranger to Stranger.
