MONTREAL – Quebec solidaire co-leader Francoise David has won her Montreal riding.
David easily defeated Parti Quebecois incumbent Nicolas Girard in her east-end riding of Gouin.

David gained a high profile during the leaders debate where she was widely praised for her performance.
The small left-wing, sovereigntist party had only one member in the national assembly heading into the election – David’s co-leader, Amir Khadir.
Khadir also won his Montreal riding on Tuesday.
