The Okanagan Sun is ready to shine this season

The Okanagan Sun is about to kick off the 2016 season under the watchful eye of new head coach Ben Macauley.

Macauley is familiar with the team after acting as an assistant coach for two years and he’s eager to see the Sun continue on with it’s winning ways.

“As far as a coach goes I’d rather keep my grey hairs for later on,” Macauley said.  “I’d rather not have a close game, I’d rather run away with it.”

Macauley has a challenge this season that a lot of coaches would be envious of; choosing between two front runners who are vying for the position of quarterback.

Keith Zyla is a returning Sun player while Foster Martins is a highly touted new recruit from the University of Manitoba.

“It will be interesting to see who grabs the reigns,” Macauley said.

The Sun is defending it’s provincial title as BC JFL champion this season, with hopes of making it to the nationals once again.
