Police say the woman was in hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and the man suffered minor injuries.

They allege that a woman fled in a vehicle, but was stopped by the RCMP and taken into custody.

She was returned to Saint John to appear in court, where she is expected to face charges of attempted murder and assault with a weapon.

Police say the three people involved in the matter know each other.
