WINNIPEG — RCMP say an initial investigation shows alcohol and speed appear to be contributing factors in a fatal single vehicle rollover Wednesday morning. A 23-year-old Winnipeg man was killed in the crash about one kilometre east of Richer on Highway 1 around 5:30 a.m.
Officers say the car was headed west when it crossed into the median and then into the ditch before rolling several times. The passenger seated in the rear of the vehicle wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.
STARS Air Ambulance rushed to the area but the victim was pronounced dead on scene.
The driver and another passenger are being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
