Spotify is launching in Canada

Finally, after years of waiting, it looks like Spotify will soon launch its music streaming service in Canada, according to the Swedish company’s recently published annual account. The company also has future plans to eventually expand its reach to Asia and South America.

Spotify allows users to stream and listen to millions of songs instantly, removing the need to download files before hand. The service is currently available in the United States on MAC and PC as well most Smartphones. There’s no word on their official launch date in Canada yet.

In the U.S. the company offers three tiers of service. Their free service relies on ads for revenue and offers unlimited listening time. Spotify’s unlimited service costs $4.99 a month and is advertisement free and also includes unlimited listening time. Their premium service costs $9.99 a month, offers unlimited listening and includes premium features like the ability to use Spotify on smartphones, enhanced sound quality and an offline mode for specific playlists.

Spotify is currently available in 15 countries including the U.S., U.K., Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
