It’s medical equipment north Okanagan healthcare facilities desperately need but don’t have the money to pay for.
Now the Vernon Jubilee Hospital (VJH) Foundation has committed to pay for the equipment.
The list of top urgently needed items has now been finalized.

It’s is a long and expensive one with 33 pieces of equipment totaling nearly $481,000.
“We are excited to have completed the annual process of determining which urgently needed pieces will most benefit the various and growing needs of North Okanagan residents,” said VJH Hospital development director Sue Beaudry.
Some of the items include:
- $16,300 airway clearance system for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions,
- $22,700 flexible ureteroscope for urology
- $24,000 laryngoscope for difficult intubation
- two portable patient lifts totaling $7,900 for palliative care residents in their own homes
