The death of a man found in a burnt-out car on Highway 4 south of North Battleford, Sask. is being called an accident by police.

RCMP found a vehicle engulfed in flames on June 17 on the highway between North Battleford and the Mosquito First Nation.

Human remains were found in the back seat of the car once the fire was put out.

Authorities say an autopsy concluded that no foul play was involved.

They say the victim was a 31-year-old man from the North Battleford area.

His name is not being releases since no charges will be pursued.

Mounties continue to investigate and have spoken to one witness.

They are looking to speak with other witnesses who may have seen the car, a blue four-door 2006 Hyundai Elantra, just prior to the fire.
