New charges have been laid against a woman accused of black-mailing a Winnipeg man after he was allegedly sexually assaulted at a spa.
Simple Mehta, the owner of Simi Magic Spa on St. Anne’s Road, was charged earlier this week with extortion after a man said he was sexually assaulted at the spa, then black-mailed for cash. The alleged assault was captured on camera, police said.

Mehta has since been charged with trafficking in persons, material benefits from trafficking in persons and procuring person to provide sexual services.

She already faces charges of extortion, voyeurism, sexual assault and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
An employee, Pam Sandhu, 22, is charged with extortion, voyeurism, sexual assault and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence.
