A man is recovering following a machete attack in Saskatoon on Wednesday evening.

Police were called out to the 1000-block of 7th Street East just before 8 p.m. CT for a report of a disturbance.

They were told a man was attacking another man with a machete.

Officers arrived to find an injured 18-year-old man. He was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

A 19-year-old man from Colonsay was arrested and is facing a number of weapon-related charges.

He is scheduled to appear Thursday morning in Saskatoon provincial court.

Investigators say the attack was not random and was of a domestic nature.
