WINNIPEG — Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Andrew Harris didn’t finish practice on Tuesday.

Near the end of practice, Harris went to make a catch and seemed to favour his right leg as he came off the field. Harris sat on the sidelines and attempted to stretch out what appeared to be a hamstring injury.

Harris, 29, will need to be evaluated by doctors with their home opener against the Montreal Alouettes just 72 hours away.

“He’ll be evaluated right now and he says he’s fine. I don’t know,” head coach Mike O’Shea said. “We’ll get it assessed.”

Harris signed with the Bombers as a free agent back in February. The Winnipeg native and former member of the Oak Park Raiders played his first six seasons in the CFL with the B.C. Lions. Last season he had 1039 yards rushing and another 484 yards receiving. He also scored 10 touchdowns.

The only other running back on the Bombers active roster is Pascal Lochard. International running back Tim Flanders is on the practice roster and would probably start if Harris can’t play. But with Harris being a Canadian, the Bombers would have to juggle their ratio to get Flanders into the starting lineup.
