Another non-stop route from Vancouver to Europe is taking flight out of Vancouver International Airport through Air Transat’s new service to Rome, Italy.

This is the first time YVR will offer a non-stop route to Italy.

The service, which lands at Rome’s Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport, will depart from YVR weekly between June 17 and Oct. 7 this year. The airline will use the Airbus A330-200, which seats 345 people including a business class for 12.

According to YVR, the new route will boost B.C.’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) by $1 million and add 60 jobs to the region.
