A Saskatchewan law student was named the 2016 winner at the Miss Universe Canada finals this past weekend. Siera Bearchell, 23, was raised in Moose Jaw and did her home province proud at the beauty pageant in Toronto.
Bearchell is enrolled in the college of law at the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) and took home “Best Runway” and won the award for “Miss Photogenic” on June 11.
Amherstburg’s Amber Bernachi placed second and all four runner-up contestants were from Ontario.
One of the top 20 quarter finalists named at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts was Saskatoon’s Jillian Martin. She was a member of the 2016 Saskatchewan Rush dance team.
