Police said one of the vehicles was travelling north on Preston when it failed to stop at a red light and was struck by a westbound vehicle on Taylor.

The 17-year-old driver of the westbound vehicle and his eight-year-old passenger were treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

Both drivers involved were ticketed because they only held learner’s licences and were unaccompanied by a licensed driver.

The 34-year-old man who was driving the northbound vehicle was charged for failing to stop for a red traffic signal.
