Charges have now been laid against the 47-year-old Burnaby man arrested after Thursday’s early morning collision with a police car at East Broadway and Slocan Street.

He was remanded into custody until his court appearance in Vancouver Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m. on August 14th.
Police say Standberg was “erratically driving on East Broadway” and when officers attempted to pull him over he refused to stop and crashed into a police car.
He suffered minor injuries, and the officer who was inside the police car at the time of the collision sustained minor abrasions after the air bag deployed.
