It was a sad day for the Meewasin Valley Authority. After 28 years the MVA announced it is closing the doors of it’s interpretive centre next month.

Officials say they have been forced to make the move, pointing largely at provincial funding.

Although the MVA didn’t suffer any cuts in the June 1 provincial budget, funding to the MVA has been stagnant for years. Officials say they can’t keep up with the cost of inflation.

Also worrisome for the MVA, the recent budget indicated provincial funding is under review.
