Toronto man charged in alleged sex assault of toddler in downtown park

A 52-year-old Toronto man is facing charges after it’s alleged he sexually assaulted a toddler in a downtown park and offered the boy’s mother money not to go to police.

Police say a man approached the 3-year-old in a park near Queen and Lansdowne streets on Saturday and spoke to him before sexually assaulting the boy.

When the mother confronted the man, he said he would pay her not to report the incident, police allege.

Cesar Diaz is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference, and due in court Wednesday.

Police are concerned there may be other alleged victims.
