LETHBRIDGE – Almost four months after her body was discovered inside a west-side home, a suspect is in custody in the murder of 56-year-old Frances Candice Little Light.
In a short statement on its website Monday afternoon, Lethbridge police confirmed a suspect was taken into custody without incident and charges are pending.
While police are not confirming the identity of the suspect, a member of Little Light’s family tells Global News it is Jillian Across the Mountain.
Across the Mountain was named a person of interest shortly after the murder, but police said she was not considered a suspect.
Little Light’s body was found inside a west-side home in the late-afternoon hours of Feb. 7, 2016.
An autopsy revealed she was the victim of a homicide.
Shortly after her death, family members gathered outside her home to pay tribute to a woman with a “heart of gold.”
Police aren’t releasing any more information, but said an update will be provided when available.
