Uber and a sharing economy

Hearings got underway this week in Quebec City looking at potential modifications to Quebec’s new taxi legislation.

Uber attended the hearings for the first time and were ready to compromise now that Bill 100 passed its first vote in the National Assembly unanimously.

The Liberal Party got an earful from it’s youth wing over Uber at a recent party convention held in Drummondville earlier this month.
Jonathan Marleau, the president of the youth wing, forced a vote at the convention urging the Liberals to come up with a better plan to deal with the sharing economy.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Marleau shared his ideas with Global Montreal’s  senior anchor Jamie Orchard.
