21-year-old man dies in crash south of Beechy, Sask.

BEECHY, Sask. – A 21-year-old man died Thursday after his pickup truck collided with a semi-tractor trailer on a grid road.

RCMP say the man died after his truck, which was travelling south, crashed with the semi that was travelling westbound one mile south and one mile east of Beechy, Sask.

The 50-year-old male driver of the semi truck, who is from Saskatoon, was treated for minor injuries.

Police say a small amount of motor oil leaked from a tanker the semi was hauling and an environmental cleanup is underway.

Police have not released the victim’s name at this time.
