Video: Highly-anticipated ‘Life of Pi’ trailer released

TORONTO – Fans eagerly awaiting the big screen adaptation of
Canadian author Yann Martel’s award-winning novel Life of Pi can finally get
a sneak peak at the upcoming film.

Directed by Ang Lee (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon)
the film follows the life of a zookeeper’s son named Piscine Molitor, known as
“Pi” Patel, after his family chooses to emigrate
from India to Canada. During the journey, the ship Pi is on sinks in the
Pacific Ocean, leaving Pi on a small boat with an orangutan, a hyena, a zebra,
and a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker.

‘Life of Pi’ was awarded the Man Booker Prize in 2002 and
was originally rejected by several publishing houses in London before it was
distributed by Knopf Canada in 2001.

The film opens in theatres November 21, 2012. Have a sneak
